Drayage/Material Handling

There are two choices of destination for your freight shipments. "advance" freight is received at the exclusive general service contractor´s warehouse and later moved to the show site. "direct" freight is received at the show site/convention center dock.

In both cases, the exclusive general service contractor moves the materials from the dock into the exhibit hall. With both destinations, your freight will be assessed a material handling (or drayage) charge for unloading at the convention center. These rates are based on the weight of your freight.

Material Handling/Drayage pertains to the following:

• The moving of freight from the warehouse or loading dock to the booth.
• The moving of empty crates/boxes off the show floor into storage.
• At the end of the show, your "empties" are brought back from storage to the exhibitor´s booth where the exhibitor re-packs their property.
• Once re-packed, the crates/boxes are then moved back to the dock area to be loaded onto the trucks.
